Last week, I surveyed the Valley’s water systems and farmland, then led a field hearing with five other Congressmen. We addressed how to get more water to create good-paying jobs, lower grocery prices, and make Valley communities healthier. Reliable water access is crucial for our Valley, and I will continue to fight for every drop. There are big projects that will make a difference, but there are small changes we can make to have a huge impact too. 

Our communities need better schools, which is why I worked with Golden Plains Unified School District in San Joaquin. We discussed how to use our resources to build affordable housing in our Valley.  

Last week, I advised the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to extend the Folsom South Canal, to get more water for our Valley. Extending the canal will bring excess water from the American watershed to Valley families and farms. Additionally, it will protect the environment, homes, and lives by reducing flood risks. I’ll keep fighting for solutions that improve our water supply and environment.
