Announcement: Submit Projects Requests for Water Resources and Development Act of 2024

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee recently opened the Water Resources and Development Act (WRDA) 2024 portal for Members of Congress to submit project requests for consideration in the final bill text. Our office highly encourages local communities and stakeholders to submit requests for local U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.

WRDA authorizes studies and projects within the scope of the USACE’s Civil Works mission area: navigation; flood, hurricane, and storm damage reduction; shoreline protection; and ecosystem restoration. Additionally, WRDA authorizes Environmental Infrastructure (EI) assistance to support local governments in either designing or constructing specific water and wastewater infrastructure.

Our office can make the following requests:
-Authorization of a new USACE feasibility study
-Authorization of a new USACE construction project (a feasibility study must be completed to submit this request)
-Authorization of a specific EI assistance
-Modification of an existing USACE feasibility study
-Modification of an existing USACE project
-Deauthorization of an existing USACE project
-Requests to transfer, exchange, or convey lands or real property owned by the Corps
-Modify an existing easement held by the Corps over property
-Modification of a national USACE carries out its general missions and authorities

To submit a request, please fill out the appropriate form BELOW and send the completed form to William.Ahlquist4@mail.house.gov.
