Duarte Issues Statement on the Biden Impeachment Inquiry

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman John Duarte (CA-13) issued the following statement regarding his vote on the Biden impeachment inquiry.

“Today, I voted in favor of launching an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. This vote does not mean I endorse an impeachment of the President,” said Rep. Duarte. “This resolution just enables the House Judiciary, Ways and Means, and Oversight and Accountability Committees, that have already established the need for this inquiry, to formally investigate whether President Biden committed high crimes and misdemeanors."

Our democracy thrives on transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. The purpose of this inquiry is to uphold these principles. “If and when these committees assemble evidence that President Biden engaged in activity that warrants consideration of articles of impeachment, I will consider them based on the seriousness of the articles and the strength of the evidence," said Rep. Duarte.
