WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman John Duarte (CA-13) issued the following statement on Azerbaijan's attack against the Armenian-majority territory of Nagorno-Karabakh:

"I condemn the violent actions of Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh," said Rep. Duarte.

200 Armenians have already lost their lives from the fighting that began on Tuesday and more than 120,000 were starved through a targeted blockade.

"This persecution of the Armenian population in the region is appalling, and quickly escalating to yet another genocide. I call on President Biden to provide supplies to Nagorno-Karabakh or the United States will become complicit in this second genocide against the Armenian people. I also call on the media to bring attention to this atrocity," said Rep. Duarte.
