WASHINGTON -- Congressman John Duarte (CA-13) released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act.

As a Member of the House Natural Resources Committee, I am proud to have helped develop the Lower Energy Costs Act, a landmark piece of legislation unleashing American energy and putting more dollars back in the wallets of hardworking Americans. 

Central Valley Californians are sick and tired of having to break the bank just to fill up their gas tanks. This bill pushes back against President Biden’s war on American energy, paving the way for increased American energy production, lower prices, and more high-paying jobs. 

This bill is not just about politics or ideology, it's about doing what's right for hardworking Californians who deserve access to affordable energy. I am proud to support H.R. 1, and I believe that it represents a critical step forward in promoting economic growth and prosperity for all Americans,” said Congressman John Duarte (CA-13).

“H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, provides for the exploration, development, importation, and exportation of energy resources (e.g., oil, gas, and minerals). For example, it sets forth provisions to (1) expedite energy projects, (2) eliminate or reduce certain fees related to the development of federal energy resources, and (3) eliminate certain funds that provide incentives to decrease emissions of greenhouse gases.”
